Resurrection

Where to watch: Criterion Channel
This is what I'll be watching this weekend! I’ve been anxiously awaiting the digital premiere of Bi Gan’s Resurrection, after a limited US release in December and January. It’s about a dying monster reliving memories across dreams, using the techniques of cinema. It sounds incredible, and the critics I trust love it.
Sentimental Value

Where to watch: Hulu
The slow drip of 2025’s stacked group of Neon's awards contenders continue to make their way to Hulu, as Sentimental Value joins The Secret Agent and It Was Just an Accident. Norwegian bias here, but I loved Sentimental Value, even if I slightly preferred the other two. It featured three of my favorite performances of the year (Renate Reinsve, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, and Stellan Skarsgård), and I loved the use of the house at the center of the story.
Jury Duty

Where to watch: Prime Video
Amazon’s Jury Duty was one of the best surprise gems of 2023 TV, making it out of the depths of FreeVee to become a genuine hit. Part reality show, part sitcom, part prank show, Jury Duty surrounded one normal man with a group of very funny actors playing ridiculous characters (including James Marsden playing himself) and told him he was serving on a jury. The results were hilarious, yes, but also surprisingly heartwarming, as that one normal man took his duties as a juror and to his fellow jurors extremely earnestly. The follow-up to Jury Duty – Company Retreat, about a fictional hot sauce company and one normal person hired as a temp worker there – is now out on the platform, which makes it a great reason to finally check out Jury Duty if you haven’t yet (or revisit if you have).
