Weekend Watchlist, 6/19: Be True
What to watch this weekend
Happy Friday, PV Guide readers! I hope you have a great weekend ahead of you.
Make sure to check out my review of The Furious if you haven’t yet! I’ll probably be watching Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die and How to Make A Killing this weekend, as both make their streaming debuts (Hulu and HBO, respectively).
Here are this week’s picks!

Pillion (unrated)

Where to watch: HBO
The best rom-com of 2025 is finally streaming, and HBO had the good sense to put the unrated version up (make sure you watch that one). Based on a short story, Pillion is the feature debut for writer-director Harry Lighton, and stars Harry Melling as a shy gay man learning what he wants out of love and Alexander Skarsgård as an impossibly charismatic and handsome biker who takes him under his wing. The movie has a terrific sense of its characters, a clever sense of humor, and is carried by two fantastic lead performances.
Robin Hood

Where to watch: For digital rental or purchase
There’s a new Robin Hood movie out this weekend – The Death of Robin Hood, a dark version of the story from Pig director Michael Sarnoski and starring Hugh Jackman. As a part of my Back in Action 1991 project, I recently watched both Robin Hood movies that came out that summer. Forget the Kevin Costner one and go for the less-seen but significantly better British production starring Patrick Bergin and Uma Thurman. It’s a much more grounded and well-constructed Robin Hood movie, with great performances and an earnest streak that brings the legendary story to life.
Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In

Where to watch: Free with a library card on Kanopy, free with ads on Tubi
There have been a lot of great lists going around suggesting movies to watch featuring people who worked on The Furious. My recommendation this week is Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, a fantastic martial arts period piece with action designed by The Furious director Kenji Tanigaki. Set in Kowloon Walled City in the mid-1980s, the movie follows a refugee who finds himself in the middle of a gang struggle as the city approaches demolition. With terrific martial arts action that takes advantage of the unique setting, memorable characters, and some of the best subtle VFX work in recent years, Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In is a complete action picture.
For people looking for more of that The Furious rush: In addition to Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, I highly recommend the Baby Assassins movies, Ghost Killer, the Eye for an Eye movies, The Paper Tigers, The Night Comes for Us, and Dragon.
